Product Description N+ PS2
Amazon.com The Way of the Ninja You are a ninja in N+. Your god-like speed, dexterity, jumping power, and reflexes are all the result of an amazingly fast metabolism; sadly, so is your natural lifespan of 1.5 minutes. Like all Ninjas, you have an unquenchable thirst for gold and a natural propensity for exploring rooms infested by increasingly lethal Ninja-killing robots. N emphasizes pacifism, humility, and the need to traverse 5 rooms before the end of your lifetime; a feat known only as 'beating an episode'. In accordance with the teachings of N, it is your profound hope that one day you will develop your platforming skills, intelligence, and inexplicable ability to reincarnate to achieve total mastery of all 300 levels.

atari style game May 21, 2010 Jared Sacco So you're a stick figure, and you can run and jump. That's about it. It's not really a puzzle game, as there is no really thinking involved, just running and jumping. While that doesn't sound to exciting, try explaining tetris or packman. This is the same sort of game. If you're looking for a casual game to kill time, buy this.
Overall, n+ is a great game that you can pick up and put down anytime.
Brutal, psychotically evil, and unbelievably addictive April 16, 2010 Brian Connors (Cape Cod, MA) The premise of the game is simple, if a bit postmodern; the gameplay is simple as well -- a little Prince of Persia, a little Sonic the Hedgehog, and a seemingly straightforward control scheme. However, there's a grand tradition in the ROM hacker world to take classic games (particularly Super Mario Brothers) and rearrange the levels to make them damn near impossible; N+ is as close to those horrifyingly sadistic games as it can be while still being a saleable product.
You will die in this game. A lot. Sometimes before you can even make a move to start the level. So frequently that the original Contra looks like a kid's game. And when you do die, you can die in some hilariously graphic ways, several all at once, and your battered corpse will continue to be banged around by the onscreen enemies until it comes to a rest or you restart the level. (This is not really a game for anyone under middle school age, although it's somewhat less graphic than it sounds.) The levels themselves are designed by some fiercely sadistic people, and although they're usually soluble, presume that you're going to need at least a dozen trips through in order to reach the goal. (And that's being wildly, unreasonably optimistic.)
Games like this don't appeal to everyone, for obvious reasons, but they do suck you in quite effectively. When playing N+, please remember that the Nintendo DS is a whole computer, not just the controller, and cannot handle high-speed wall impacts with the same resilience of a classic NES controller. Also, please resist the temptation to concoct creative deaths; any off-the-wall way the game might kill you is likely to be far more interesting than anything you can contrive.
Elegance in Simplicity April 12, 2010 CPU12 N+ is case and point in "elegance in simplicity". You hit the A button to jump, and the control pad to move around in devilishly hard platforming levels that will keep you addicted, keep you having fun, and keep you happily frustrated as you try to beat all 50+ episodes of 5 levels each in this game.
Note: This game is not for the easily frustrated, for you WILL die more than a thousand times as you try to play this game. NO JOKE. There is a death counter, and mine reads quite high. I have more than a thousand deaths from just one kind of obstacle!
Some people say this a pick up and play game that takes little five minute sessions to play. Not so. When you pick up the game, you will stay hooked with it for at least 30 minutes, or however long it takes you to beat a grueling level. And when you finish, and have that oh so wonderful feeling of beating the episode, you want to go try another episode! And thus you stay for about 30 or more minutes at a time.
Overall, a great, cheap, game that should be in any DS owner's pocket.
A Silent Little Winner February 10, 2010 Micheal Hunt (Hellbourne) It's a shame so many good DS games go hardly unnoticed, this is one of those games. For a very cheap price, this game is based from a flash game found online, where you control a stick-figure ninja and jump around, up to platforms, bounce of walls trying to collect a certain item to unlock a door you must go through, all while collecting things and dodging/avoiding enemies.
Graphic wise you might see a preview and think to yourself, "That looks so bad" but thats not what this game is about. It's a puzzle type of game where you have to work out how to get that door open, and then how to get back to it, while also avoiding or aiming for obstacles. Some levels might be a quick second or two to achieve, while others may take you quite some time & many tries to work it out. There is dozens of levels, maybe even hundreds, and even when you have completed all the given levels, you can still create your own, and even share them via a community wifi connection, or just use the wifi to play against other people.
For the price of the game, it is well worth it. It is a fun little strategy game that I think too many people have browsed at the back cover, seen some screen shots, guessed it's cheap for a reason, and put it back on the shelf... which is a shame, as I don't think I have heard any bad reviews so far from anyone who has played this. In some ways it reminds me a little of Super Mario Advance and an old game you might not have heard of called Lupin.
From what I understand, the only big difference between this version and the flash version is there is no blood in this version. Tho your character will explode when he dies. If you ever get stuck on a level and cant figure it out, nor can you find a FAQ/Guide to help you, just check out youtube for plenty of videos on how to achieve your goal for some of the trickier levels of this game.
I'd give this game a rating of 3 and a half stars, it is very occupying, addictive and fun once you get the hang of things. And for the price of the game itself, I can't see how you could think this one would be a waste of money at all. It's great for people of all ages and will really test your skills at times.
Perfect February 6, 2010 Adam (Denver) This game isn't meant to appeal to everyone, but it's perfect for people who are into this kind of thing. It's pure, simple action/platforming. No story, plot, characters, or anything like that. The whole point of the game is just to play. The unique movement of the ninja is a lot of fun, and it's amazing how quickly and efficiently you learn to get around. But the bottom line is this: if you like the way the gameplay looks in the videos, you won't be disappointed. What you see is really what you get, and I love it!
