Din't Work August 14, 2010 E. Scolforo (Western MA) I bought this 12 volt adaptor since my original got lost. My GPS used to keep power while plugged in to the original but this replacement one would not. So I changed the battery in the unit and tried the cable again.I kept getting an "external power lost" message in two different vehicles. I checked the adaptor fuse. It was fine. The GPS charges fine thru my computer USB connection. So I conclued that the 12 volt cable is faulty. I don't recommed it.
Needs additional adapter to power the GPS August 12, 2010 TropicalMinnesota I have a Nuvi 670 and lost the adapter that clips on the back and the cigarette lighter plug that goes into that. This replaces the cigarette lighter plug, but does not plug directly into the GPS. If you don't have the clip, this will not help. This plug is just a smidge bigger than a standard USB plug.
Looks good July 28, 2010 ganzlieben I received the Garmin 12 V adapter for my 720 in the alloted time. Went on a road trip in my Mini and on my return the battery ran low. Have not determined the problem; perhaps a defective fuse.
great deal, fast shipping July 24, 2010 Augie Garmin should have issued a kit to replace the orgin. cheap plastic glued to metal end that goes in cig lighter to power the Garmin nuvi660. THis cord is fantastic...all metal end!
so far so good, but must handle with care July 1, 2010 N. Bhut (Maryland, USA) The quality on the adapter is weak, and therefore must be handled with care, otherwise it has worked well. I dont know why Gramin makes such cheap adapters (I guess to make $). The plastic is easy to beak when removing it from the plug.
